Cybersecurity to come under spotlight at joint UK/Kuwait event

A joint UK and Kuwait cybersecurity event is to be held in Kuwait.

Thefirst UK/Kuwait Cyber Security Education and Research Conference, CERC2019, will be held at the Kuwait College of Science and Technology on November 11 and 12.

CERC2019 supports the Kuwait-UK Memorandum of Understanding on cybersecurity signed in 2018, which points to engagement in both education and research.

Speakers include: Dr Safaa Zaman, of Kuwait University, who will talk about ‘The Effects of Human Factor Dynamics in Cyber Security in Kuwait’; Dr Jassim Aljuraidan, of Kuwait University, who will talk on ‘Reputation Systems and the Economics of Outsourcing’

There will also be a panel discussion on integrating cybersecurity in Kuwait academic/research programmes. Panellists include: Dr Ammar AlHusaini (CAIT); Dr Hussain Almohri; Eng Mohammad AlSanousi (PAAET); Dr Pradeep; Prof. Muttukrishnan Rajarajan and Prof Khalid Al-Begain.

Organisations represented by speakers include University of Birmingham, University of Kent, University of South Wales, Cardiff University, De Montford University and Oxford Brookes University.
