The goal: to ease the growing pressure on security teams who are struggling to manage a rising volume of vulnerabilities and an increasingly complex attack surface.

Qualys said the additions to its platform are built to underpin a more intelligent Risk Operations Centre (ROC) by embedding automation directly into its Enterprise TruRisk Management (ETM) system. The result is a risk-centric framework that not only identifies exposures but also ranks and addresses them using AI-driven workflows tailored to organisational priorities.

“Cybersecurity has long struggled to keep up with the scale of exposures,” said Tyler Shields, principal analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. “This shift toward Agentic AI marks a transition—from reactive operations to proactive risk reduction, using intelligent prioritisation and autonomous remediation.”

The system now includes a Cyber Risk Assistant—an interactive tool that enables security teams to explore risk profiles, interpret exposure data, and receive AI-powered recommendations. The platform also offers tools for building custom AI agents that can be trained on specific risk scenarios without the need for coding expertise.

Key features include:

Real-time threat prioritisation: AI agents continuously assess attack surfaces and adjust remediation strategies based on asset context and emerging threats, allowing organisations to focus resources on the most pressing vulnerabilities.

Autonomous remediation: Agents such as the Microsoft Patch Tuesday Lifecycle Agent use contextual data to automate the identification and resolution of vulnerabilities, reducing time-to-remediation and resource strain.

Customisable agents: Security teams can deploy no-code AI agents tailored to their unique risk environments, creating repeatable processes that adapt to evolving cyber risks.

Sumedh Thakar, president and CEO of Qualys, said the technology aims to augment human teams rather than replace them. “Agentic AI transforms how organisations manage cyber risk.
