Kodak Alaris has launched its KODAK N2000 Series network desktop scanners, designed to provide organisations with a standardised approach to document capture across multiple locations.<\/p>\n\n\n

The series consists of the N2040, capable of scanning up to 40 pages or 80 images per minute, and the N2050, which supports up to 50 pages or 100 images per minute. Both models include onboard Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scanners are intended for organisations operating distributed environments where document capture processes can vary between individual sites, potentially resulting in inconsistent image quality, additional manual processes and rework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kodak Alaris has incorporated its Perfect Page image processing technology, Dual-Light Illumination and SurePath paper handling into the new models. Ultrasonic multi-feed detection is designed to identify instances where multiple sheets are fed into the scanner simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Network EasySetup enables organisations to apply standard configurations across fleets of scanners at multiple sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Security features include Secure Boot with signed firmware, encrypted connections, locked firmware and digital stamping with audit logs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDistributed organizations don\u2019t have a scanner problem; they have a standardization problem,\u201d said Megan Bevilacqua, Director of Global Product Management & Channel Operations at Kodak Alaris. \u201cWhen every site captures differently, the cost shows up later as rework, delays, and audit findings. The N2000 Series gives them one capture standard they can deploy everywhere and defend when it counts. So, a teller line, a registration desk, and a claims office all produce the same trustworthy record.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The N2000 Series uses the same driver architecture as Kodak Alaris’ S3000 and S5000 Series, with TWAIN, ISIS and WIA drivers. Operating system support includes Windows, Windows Server and Linux Ubuntu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KODAK Capture Pro LE software is included with the scanners. Other features include a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen, 100-sheet feeder and support for media ranging from lightweight paper to hard cards. Modular flatbed options are also available for scanning materials including bound books, fragile documents and passports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kodak Alaris is targeting the scanners at distributed operations in sectors including banking, healthcare, insurance, government and legal services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
