The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has revealed how it is improving services for Kuwaiti citizens using highly secure and application-centric infrastructure.
\nPACI, which issues civil identity cards and delivers a range of e-government services including Public Key Infrastructure and Geographic Information Systems, has teamed up with global security and application delivery experts F5 Networks to adapt to fast-paced development across Kuwait and its increasingly internet connected people.
\n\u201cKuwait is growing fast and PACI\u2019s infrastructure is relied upon by a large number of government entities, so we need to ensure that we are operating on the absolute cutting-edge when it comes to the availability, scalability and security of our services,\u201d said Musaed Al-Asousi General Director, PACI.

\nPACI is responsible for running a system to register and keep track of Kuwait’s population. The challenge is intensifying as the country continues to develop and increase its population with expatriates. PACI uses the information to support decision makers to make informed decisions to support national-level planning, and to provide a trusted, and reliable data source for different government, and private organizations.
\nPACI is currently running F5\u00ae BIG-IP\u00ae Local Traffic Manager\u2122 (LTM) to simplify, automate, and customize application delivery, and F5\u00aeBIG-IP\u00ae Global Traffic Manager\u2122 (GTM) to ensure availability as well as scale and secure DNS infrastructure during high query volumes and DDoS attacks.
\nIn addition, BIG-IP\u00ae Application Security Manager\u2122 (ASM), a comprehensive web application firewall (WAF), protects apps and data from known and unknown threats, defends against bots that bypass standard protections, and virtually patches app vulnerabilities.
