{"id":28790,"date":"2018-08-23T10:35:09","date_gmt":"2018-08-23T09:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/me\/?p=28790"},"modified":"2018-08-30T10:31:45","modified_gmt":"2018-08-30T09:31:45","slug":"two-million-saudi-pilgrims-offered-two-million-gigabytes-of-internet-access","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/me\/2018\/08\/23\/two-million-saudi-pilgrims-offered-two-million-gigabytes-of-internet-access\/","title":{"rendered":"Two million Saudi pilgrims offered two million gigabytes of Internet access"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"background: #FEFEFE\"><span style=\"font-size: 15.0pt;font-family: 'Effra',serif;color: #0a0a0a\">Saudi Arabia\u2019s Hadiyah Association has provided a total of two million gigabytes for two million pilgrims during this year\u2019s Hajj season, the Islamic major pilgrimage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: #FEFEFE\"><span style=\"font-size: 15.0pt;font-family: 'Effra',serif;color: #0a0a0a\">The Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Communications and Information Technology Commission worked in partnership with mobile operators Saudi Telecom, Etihad Etisalat (Mobily), Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (Zain), Virgin Mobile and Etihad Jawraa (Lebara).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: #FEFEFE\"><span style=\"font-size: 15.0pt;font-family: 'Effra',serif;color: #0a0a0a\">An official statement said that the initiative was in accordance with the directives of the custodians of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, \u2018to do everything possible to make it easy for pilgrims to perform the rituals of Hajj.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: #FEFEFE\"><span style=\"font-size: 15.0pt;font-family: 'Effra',serif;color: #0a0a0a\">Each subscriber to packages provided by the kingdom\u2019s mobile operators had access to one gigabyte of data for 48 hours. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: #FEFEFE\"><span style=\"font-size: 15.0pt;font-family: 'Effra',serif;color: #0a0a0a\">The initiative allowed pilgrims to communicate with their families and enabled them to access the digital services available in the Smart Hajj initiative in order to enhance their experience and allow them to take advantage of enhanced communication services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: #FEFEFE\"><span style=\"font-size: 15.0pt;font-family: 'Effra',serif;color: #0a0a0a\">\u201cThis initiative is just one of the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Communications and Information Technology Commission and all mobile service providers in the kingdom to provide the best communication services to pilgrims during this pilgrimage season,\u201d the statement said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saudi Arabia\u2019s Hadiyah Association has provided a total of two million gigabytes for two million pilgrims during this year\u2019s Hajj season, the Islamic major pilgrimage.
