Zebra Technologies Corporation\u00a0<\/a>, an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge, has announced Aster DM Healthcare Group (Aster) is now using Zebra mobile computers<\/a> for multiple applications related to patient safety and quality of care.<\/p>\n

In its two Dubai-based hospitals, this has helped improve front-line nurses\u2019 responsiveness to patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), catheterisation lab and inpatient wards.<\/p>\n

Aster is an extensive private healthcare group of 19 hospitals globally, providing quality healthcare services to over 10 million patients in the Middle East, India and Philippines.<\/p>\n

In search of a top clinical mobility<\/a> solution, Aster chose Zebra based on its expertise and specialised healthcare offerings. The group already uses Zebra printers, scanners and wristband<\/a> solutions for patient identification<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Aster added mobile computers to its Zebra line-up for their ruggedness and scanning capability. Nurses now use Zebra mobile computers at the bedside for patient identification and medication administration, verification and management.<\/p>\n

This has enhanced overall patient safety which is also consistent with Zebra\u2019s Future of Healthcare: 2022 Hospital Vision Study<\/a> results which revealed 72 % of surveyed decision-makers agree mobile devices improve patient care quality, increase time spent with patients and reduce errors.<\/p>\n
