Egypt and Kuwait have made an agreement to co-operate in\ndealing with cybercriminals deemed a threat to national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement, announced by Egypt\u2019s Prosecutor-General Nabil\nSadek, will accelerate legal proceedings against cybercriminals and clamp down\non those suspects wanted by both countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sadek told Egypt’s state news agency MENA that Egypt and\nKuwait will hand over suspects to each other should one of the countries\nrequest the arrest of suspected cybercriminals based in the other country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Since crime has become more complex and cross-border,\nno country can effectively confront it alone,” said Sadek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kuwait is one of Egypt’s close Gulf allies and the deal is\nintended to boost joint judicial co-operation to combat all forms of crime,\nfacilitate the exchange of information and speed up the handover of suspects.\n\nThe agreement will also develop the use of\ntechnology by members of the judiciary to stay on top of methods used by\ncriminals.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
