{"id":41547,"date":"2019-09-18T14:18:02","date_gmt":"2019-09-18T13:18:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/me\/?p=41547"},"modified":"2019-09-24T10:21:50","modified_gmt":"2019-09-24T09:21:50","slug":"palo-alto-networks-reveals-71-of-uae-residents-trust-iot-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/me\/2019\/09\/18\/palo-alto-networks-reveals-71-of-uae-residents-trust-iot-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Palo Alto Networks reveals 71% of UAE residents trust IoT technology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>UAE shows far higher levels of trust in IoT tech compared with European nations, according to research commissioned by Palo Alto Networks.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UAE has far higher levels of trust in IoT technologies,\nsuch as smart home devices and wearables, compared to Europe, according to\nresearch commissioned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paloaltonetworks.com\/\">Palo Alto Networks<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research shows that 71% of respondents surveyed in the\nUAE believe that IoT technology is secure, compared to an EMEA average of just\n38%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the UAE, just 22% of respondents think IoT technology is either\n\u2018not very secure\u2019 or \u2018not at all secure\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The survey results are likely to resonate in the UAE, which\nis keen to utilise IoT and AI to help drive economic growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March, Dubai published its<a href=\"https:\/\/www.government.ae\/en\/about-the-uae\/strategies-initiatives-and-awards\/local-governments-strategies-and-plans\/dubai-internet-of-things-strategy\"> IoT Strategy<\/a> including a bold vision to build\nthe world\u2019s most advanced IoT ecosystem in a bid to improve people\u2019s lives. The\nstrategy aims to achieve the objectives of the Smart Dubai Plan 2021 to\ntransition to a 100% paperless government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haider Pasha, Regional Chief\nSecurity Officer, Emerging Markets, Palo Alto Networks, said: \u201cThe level of\ntrust in IoT technology in the UAE appears to be far ahead of the EMEA average.\nThis is very encouraging for the UAE, especially in light of the country\u2019s\ncommitment to harness the power of technologies including IoT and AI for\neconomic growth and development.
