{"id":41689,"date":"2019-09-24T12:58:00","date_gmt":"2019-09-24T11:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/me\/?p=41689"},"modified":"2019-09-30T14:32:25","modified_gmt":"2019-09-30T13:32:25","slug":"ksas-digital-pioneers-honoured-at-idc-cio-excellence-awards-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/me\/2019\/09\/24\/ksas-digital-pioneers-honoured-at-idc-cio-excellence-awards-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"KSA&#8217;s digital pioneers honoured at IDC CIO Excellence Awards 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With more than 100 of the Kingdom&#8217;s most influential\nICT leaders in attendance, the IDC Saudi Arabia CIO Summit 2019 closed with a\nceremony to mark the second edition of the IDC CIO Excellence Awards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a time when innovation is becoming the hallmark of\ncompetitive success, IDC sought to recognise the efforts of those individuals\nand organisations that have excelled in conceptualising and delivering\ngame-changing Digital Transformation initiatives across the Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;CIOs are coming under mounting\npressure to disrupt their organisations in a meaningful and constructive way,\nreinventing the experiences of customers, partners, and employees alike with\nthe help of innovation-accelerating technologies like Artificial Intelligence,\nrobotics, Blockchain, and the Internet of Things,&#8221; said Hamza Naqshbandi,\nIDC&#8217;s Country Manager for KSA and Bahrain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This\npressure will see spending on Digital Transformation initiatives across the\nMiddle East and Africa top $25 billion this year, so it&#8217;s only right that the\npioneering efforts of the Kingdom&#8217;s most successful and innovative digital\nleaders are highlighted and publicly acknowledged in this way.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IDC had been accepting nominations\nacross three categories since August and received a total of 50 submissions\nfrom 31 different organisations. IDC&#8217;s CIO Advisory Council for Saudi Arabia\nthen reviewed the nominations, with the winners and finalists in each category\nrevealed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winner of CIO of the Year was&nbsp;Dr.\nSaleh AlMugrin, Ministry of Defense. Finalists were: Mohammed AlEnazi, Fawaz\nAlhokair Fashion Retail; Yazeed A. Alotaibi, Ministry of Health; Eng. Motref\nAlSahli, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; and Eng. Faisal\nAhmed Bakhashwain, Ministry of Civil Service<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winner of CISO of the Year was Alaa Al\nAsali, Arab National Bank. Finalists were&nbsp;Darweesh Nasser Al-Buainain, SATORP;\nJad H. Abdulsalam, Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma&#8217;aden)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winner in Excellence in Digital\nInnovation was the BinDawood Group. Finalists were National Water Company; Umm\nAl-Qura University; and National Housing Company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IDC would\nlike to thank the esteemed members of the CIO Advisory Council for being part\nof the judging process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Eng.
