The Ministry of Technology and Communication in Oman together\nwith Oman Broadband and Ooredoo has launched the high-speed Oman Government\nNetwork (OGN) in Muscat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is an integrated and safe government network that meets\nthe future demands of e.oman projects, like the G-Cloud, the official Oman\neGovernment services portal, the National Data Center and other e.oman\ninfrastructure projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dhafir bin Saif Al-Kalbani, Director General of\nInfrastructure, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Technology and\nCommunication, said: \u201cThe high-speed Oman Government Network replaced the\ncurrent OGN in 63 government entities in Muscat including all ministry headquarters\nand some of their main branches in the capital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey were linked using fibre optics network in a way that\nhelps these entities in benefiting from the new network to provide their\neServices with a better quality and a speed that reaches 1 GB in all government\nsites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMoreover, the new network will play a role in upgrading the\ncapacity of the OGN\u2019s ISDN lines and elevating its quality while decreasing the\nprevious costs. Our hope for this network is for it to have a vital role in\nsupporting a quicker Digital Transformation process in Oman and serving all\nimportant sectors like health, education, manufacturing, tourism, economy, and\nother sectors through providing high-quality eServices.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
