The Ministry of Technology and Communications in Oman has\norganised a cybersecurity workshop for investors at the ministry\nheadquarters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The workshop, targeting public and private investment organisations,\naims to spread awareness on the recent World Economic Forum (WEF) report on Incentivizing\nResponsible and Secure Innovation<\/em>, and to incentivise investors on prioritising\ncybersecurity risks on their investment portfolios. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This will help them ensure the security of their investments\nand maximise the return on them because cybersecurity attacks have been proven to\ncause huge financial losses on well-established organisations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n During the workshop, Eng.\nBadar Ali Al Salehi, the Director General of Oman National CERT at the Ministry\nof Technology and Communications, and the head of the ITU-Arab Regional\ncybersecurity centre, gave a presentation on global and national trends in\ncybersecurity and gave an overview for the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He also took the participants through the WEF report and the\nbasic principles of cybersecurity that investors can incorporate throughout\ntheir investment journey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Eng. Al Salehi also presented the Cybersecurity Due\nDiligence Framework<\/em>, and the assessment methodology by the WEF guiding\ninvestors to assess cybersecurity during the investment journey.
