Software provider Epicor unveils the results of 2019 Global Growth Index. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manufacturing\nbusiness growth has continued to rise over the past year, but at a much slower\nrate than the previous 12 months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite\nchallenging market conditions and the difficulty in recruiting and retaining skilled\nstaff, there has been a marginal one percent rise in the number of businesses\nreporting growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These\nfindings are survey results unveiled today from the annual Global Growth Index\nby Epicor Software Corporation – a global provider of industry-specific\nenterprise software to promote business growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those\ncompanies who have experienced growth, maintaining it hasn\u2019t been easy over the\npast year. Forty-two percent admit it has been challenging, whilst a fifth (22%)\nhave found it stressful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forty percent\nof businesses cite market conditions as having a negative impact on growth, and\n23% feel that staff skills and experience have also played a detrimental part\nin maintaining growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political\nvolatility and uncertainty also continue to be a common cause for concern\nacross the globe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe\nmanufacturing industry plays an integral role in our global economy and people\nforget that it is responsible for delivering important products we use every\nday,\u201d said Epicor CEO, Steve Murphy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs such,\nthe health of the manufacturing industry is something we should all be\nconcerned about. While it\u2019s good news to see that growth in this industry is\nstill taking place, we need to keep a close eye on what factors are\ncontributing to this growth and what factors are causing a lag. The information\nin the Global Growth Index empowers businesses so they can make strategic plans\nthat will best position them for the future.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now in its\nthird year, the Epicor Global Growth Index is designed to measure the state of\nworldwide business growth within the manufacturing industry. The Index tracks\nthe performance of businesses – year on year – within 13 territories across a\nnumber of key indicators, including turnover, profits, headcount and product\nrange. Compared to last year\u2019s results, the Growth Index rose by one percent.\nThis is down from the 3.7% in the previous 12-month period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reid\nPaquin, Research Director, IDC, said: \u201cInvesting in the\nright technology, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, can\nhelp businesses better plan for change by improving visibility and\ninsights into current operational workflows. This can help alleviate stress and\nenable people to deal with challenges more effectively, by providing the\nflexibility, agility and adaptability needed to respond to market conditions\nand customer demands.
