Microsoft has announced plans to establish a new cloud data\ncentre region in Qatar to deliver its intelligent cloud services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new region is anticipated to be available starting with\nMicrosoft Azure in 2021, and Office 365, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform to\nfollow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement by Microsoft was made in partnership with the Ministry of\nTransport and Communications at an event attended by the Prime Minister and\nMinister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, HE\nMinister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti and\nPresident, Microsoft Global Sales, Marketing and Operations, Microsoft Corp,\nJean-Philippe Courtois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new region will be administered through an entity at the\nQatar Free Zones, showing their potential globally in incubating such initiatives,\nthus boosting self-sufficiency and sustainability as well as leveraging Qatar\u2019s\necosystem to be effective in developing the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Government entities, organisations, public and private\nenterprises and developers will have access to scalable, highly available and\nresilient cloud services to accelerate their Digital Transformation journeys \u2013 to\nbetter engage customers, empower employees, optimise operations and transform\nproducts and services \u2013 from the new cloud region in Qatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
