The Ministry of Technology and Communications in Oman has\nsigned an agreement to launch the country’s first specialised cybersecurity\naccelerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This has been achieved in co-operation with the Oman-Britain Digital\nCentre and Takween, the annual investment programme affiliated to Oman\nTechnology Fund. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project is a significant milestone for the whole Middle\nEast and it aims to support companies operating in the cybersecurity sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The programme, which has been dubbed as the \u2018Sas Accelerator\u2019,\nhas been designed especially for individuals and groups to serve as a business\nthink-tank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will provide for the development of business ideas in\nthe field of cybersecurity and the encouragement of digitalised\nentrepreneurship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It will provide scope for improving efficient work models and\nbuilding vital leadership skills with the aim of enabling participants to take\nsteps necessary that will lead to the growth of their companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement was signed by Hassan bin Fida al-Lawati,\nDirector General of the Digital Community Development Sector at the Ministry of\nTechnology and Communications, and the adviser of the British Embassy in\nMuscat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministry together with Oman Broadband and Ooredoo has recently\nlaunched the high-speed Oman Government Network (OGN). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
