Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, has announced that it will focus its efforts and dedicate resources to growing its market share in Kuwait, where the Enterprise Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry is expected to increase at a rapid pace on account of the need to diversify the economy away from the oil sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

As per a report<\/span><\/a> entitled \u2018The Report: Kuwait 2015\u2019<\/strong> by the Oxford Business Group<\/a>,\u00a0 access to the internet, especially via mobile devices, has accelerated rapidly in Kuwait since the government liberalised the telecoms and IT sector in the early 2000s. The nation now has one of the highest smartphone penetration rates in the region, at 69% of the population in 2014 after seeing 40% growth on the previous year. <\/span><\/p>\n

As one of the first GCC nations to embrace competition by allowing private sector participation in the provision of telecoms services, Kuwait has lately moved to extend oversight of private operations, approving a bill in April 2014 to create an independent telecoms regulator, a move expected to yield fresh momentum for the ICT industry going forward.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sabahat Nassim, Channel Sales Manager, Middle East at Aruba says, \u201cKuwait is experiencing the effects of \u2018Bring Your Own Device\u2019 trend where business users are increasingly requesting use of their own mobile devices for work. Aruba will focus its efforts on key verticals including government, hospitality, healthcare, education, retail and finance. Channel is key to the company\u2019s success and it will continue to conduct training and certification programmes in Kuwait through its training partners. Aruba is eager to raise its corporate profile in the country and will run marketing campaigns and participate at relevant industry events.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aruba was acquired in mid 2015 by HP, now HPE. Aruba will bring its best-of-breed wireless LAN infrastructure and policy management to the access layer, complementing HPE\u2019s strong footprint in wired LAN and data center switching. Together, Aruba and HPE are offering a unified networking solution to help customers in Kuwait and globally successfully manage their networking needs throughout the transition to a \u2018mobile first\u2019 infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sabahat says, \u201cThe key areas that will drive the business focus for Aruba are the advent of 802.11 ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi, the growing trend around the Internet of Things (IoT), and a vertical focus through the channel. The introduction of Wave 2 technology has been a pivotal moment for wireless networks; finally enterprises have an access medium that allows Wi-Fi to be faster than wired.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
