No IT work, the study predicts, will be completed without AI involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the Gartner IT Symposium\/Xpo 2025, analysts warned that most organizations are still unprepared to capture the full value of AI. \u201cWhile not all AI is ready to deliver value, humans are even less ready to capture it,\u201d said Alicia Mullery, VP Analyst, Gartner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firm argues that companies must develop both AI readiness &#8211; the maturity of their tools and technologies\u2014and human readiness, which focuses on workforce skills and adaptability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gartner forecasts AI\u2019s impact on jobs will be neutral through 2026, but by 2036, it could create more than 500 million net new roles supporting AI-driven initiatives. \u201cAI isn\u2019t about job loss &#8211; it\u2019s about workforce transformation,\u201d said Daryl Plummer, Gartner VP and Chief of AI Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, many firms are still struggling to make AI pay off.
