Khosla Ventures, SE Ventures and Wing VC are among the investors.

Foundry says its manufacturing footprint has increased twentyfold as it develops autonomous production capacity for drones, underwater vehicles, satellites, ground robots and data centre equipment.

Unlike conventional assembly lines designed for individual products, its system uses AI-controlled robotic cells that can be reconfigured for different manufacturing tasks. The company claims customers can move from design to production within weeks without financing dedicated production lines.

Its FoundryOS software coordinates factory robots, production operations and cloud systems. Data generated during assembly feeds back into AI models intended to improve performance across successive manufacturing runs.

The company operates its own facilities under a manufacturing-as-a-service model, combining robotic automation with human manufacturing specialists.

Founded by Adarsh Kulkarni and former Tesla manufacturing executive Emmanuel Lamacchia, Foundry is positioning flexible automation as an alternative to costly factory retooling.

However, the company has not disclosed production volumes, customer contract values or independently verified productivity improvements. Its expansion will test whether adaptable AI robotics can deliver reliable assembly at industrial scale and speed.

Foundry Robotics has raised US$100 million to expand an AI-powered assembly factory in California, targeting a manufacturing bottleneck facing US defense contractors and industrial hardware producers.
