Woolworths continues transformation with Software AG deal

Software AG has extended a multi-year partnership with leading Australian supermarket chain, Woolworths, to help enhance its data-driven transformation.

Woolworths will continue to use the webMethods integration platform from Software AG, which has helped it implement innovative initiatives including scan-and-go, digital electronic receipts and real-time stock-on-hand visibility.

John Hunt, CIO, Woolworths, said: “We operate in an increasingly connected and hybrid technology landscape. The ability to seamlessly access and integrate data across multiple platforms and environments, both cloud and on-premises, is fast becoming the ‘ticket to operate’. Our on-going partnership with Software AG provides our organization with the tools to effectively meet the ever-changing demands for data and agility.”

Woolworths aims to stay ahead of customer expectations and always deliver new and innovative services. The organization is well advanced in moving to a hybrid, multi-cloud environment, with workloads being migrated to both public and private clouds.

webMethods’ new iPaaS offering is central to Woolworths’ hybrid integration platform, which widens access to technology throughout the organization. The ambition is for line-of-business and ‘domain’ specialists to have self-serve tools to make necessary changes and innovate in their area, reducing the reliance on rarer specialist technical skills.
