Bridging the gap for women in cyber security

Cybersecurity specialist Tesserent further committed itself towards bridging the gap for women in cyber security by becoming ‘Champion of Change’ ambassador of this month’s 0xCC – a cyber security training conference by women for women.

Hosted in Melbourne this month, the free 0xCC 2023 sold out in just over 12 hours with attendees from around Australia and New Zealand – Tesserent’s core operational regions.

The event has a strong focus on accessibility and technical training.

According to the 2021 Census women only represented 16% of the Australian cybersecurity workforce.

Alannah Guo, founder of the 0xCC initiative, said: “Tesserent is playing an active and important role in encouraging the future pipeline of female talent the cybersecurity industry desperately needs, as well as building towards a better professional environment.

Tesserent’s managing consultant Melody Lei and senior security consultant Renae Schilg-Tartsus will be teaching the sold-out training course: Hacktastic Voyage: Explore Web App Hacking Fundamentals.
