Nokia and Converge partner to deliver high-speed data centre solutions in the Philippines

Nokia has announced a collaboration with Converge ICT Solutions Inc. in the Philippines to deploy its Data Centre Fabric solution, aiming to future-proof new data centres with AI and automation technology.

The deployment is set to enhance network performance, scalability and efficiency for Converge, while boosting service agility and ensuring sovereign cloud readiness for regulatory compliance.

The Nokia Data Centre Fabric solution, which includes both hardware and software, will be instrumental in future-proofing Converge’s new data centres. It incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation technology to boost network efficiency, scalability, and service agility, while also ensuring sovereign cloud readiness for regulatory compliance.

Converge will leverage Nokia’s 7220 Interconnect Router (IXR) data centre switches, powered by the SR-Linux network operating system (NOS) and the Event-Driven Automation (EDA) platform. This deployment is expected to drive operational excellence by simplifying network management. The operator also anticipates more sustainable operations through the use of automation to reduce energy consumption.

Nokia’s EDA technology is set to improve response times and ensure consistent performance with reduced computing resource consumption. The Nokia 7220 IXR, a key component of the Data Centre Fabric solution, provides fixed-configuration, high-capacity platforms, offering enhanced scale, flexibility, and operational efficiency.Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge CEO and Co-Founder, said: “We see AI workloads and high-performance computing (HPC) to becoming an essential part of our operations so we’re prepping our data center networks to be designed for extreme scalability and reliability.”
