Equinix strengthens Singapore’s sustainable digital future with Flo Energy

Equinix, a leading digital infrastructure company, has announced its latest renewable energy Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Singapore, with Flo Energy Singapore (Flo) as the counterparty. This agreement reinforces Equinix’s long-term commitment to supporting Singapore’s Green Plan 2030.

The new solar PPA with Flo, Singapore’s largest independent electricity provider, is expected to deliver at least 11.5 Megawatt peak (MWp) of renewable energy capacity generated from industrial and commercial rooftop solar installations across the country. The agreement also includes an option for Equinix to expand the capacity to up to 50MWp over time, supporting the company’s growing energy needs and long-term sustainability ambitions.

With this latest agreement, Equinix will expand its local renewable energy portfolio in Singapore to a cumulative 215MWp by 2028, reinforcing its position as one of the leading colocation off-takers in the nation. Collectively, these agreements are expected to generate about 250,000 MWh of electricity per year, which is equivalent to the annual charging energy for roughly 60,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in Singapore.

“Singapore’s position as a trusted global AI and Digital Hub will be underpinned by digital infrastructure that is resilient, sustainable and built for the future,” said Yee May Leong, Managing Director, Singapore, Equinix. “Our fourth PPA is a significant milestone that reflects the power of collaboration across Singapore’s public and private sectors. As demand for digital infrastructure continues to accelerate, Equinix remains committed to supporting Singapore’s position as a global digital hub while advancing the nation’s sustainability goals.”
