Somerville, one of the most experienced end-to-end IT service providers in Australia, has announced the launch of a AU$1.2 million national network upgrade, powered by Cisco carrier network technologies, to support its expanding customer base and cater to demanding connectivity requirements.
The new Somerville network doubles the company’s network capacity and provides Australian public and private sector enterprises with the digital infrastructure to emerge stronger in a post-pandemic business environment.
Built on Cisco’s Network Convergence System (NCS), the network features the latest architecture and deployment capabilities, increased capacity and stronger performance, broader security and visibility. It will support Somerville customers with industry-leading 100 and 400 Gigabit Ethernet capacities to cater for today’s co-location requirements, high-capacity traffic volumes and better architecture for optimized handling of traffic.
At the same time, customers will benefit from proactive incident reporting and network management propelled with QoS-based reporting for latency sensitive traffic.

Somerville’s new national network has been designed to drive down total cost of ownership by minimizing outages with proactive alerting capabilities.
