Huawei launches new-gen AI-powered Green Site and GW-Level AIDC solutions to empower operators

At the Product and Solution Launch event during MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei unveiled its new-generation AI-powered Green Site and gigawatt-level Artificial Intelligence Data Center solutions. These solutions aim to help operators build networks aligned with zero-carbon targets while laying the foundation for Artificial Intelligence computing in the era of the agentic Internet, supporting intelligent and low-carbon transformation.

AI-powered Green Site

Artificial Intelligence development is driving rapid traffic growth, creating new challenges for site power facilities. Huawei’s AI-powered Green Site introduces end-to-end intelligent synergy designed to improve network resilience and reduce energy operating expenditure while enabling operators to monetise energy storage assets.

  • Zero network disruptions due to power outages: The iBackup solution doubles backup time, increasing site power availability to 99.9%. In Kuwait, emergency backup time increased from three hours to six hours, helping ensure business continuity during power outages.
  • One tank of fuel per year: Intelligent algorithms integrate weather, power generation and load forecasts to enable collaborative scheduling of photovoltaic generation, energy storage systems and generators. In Southern Africa this approach reduced fuel consumption by 75%, saving more than US$10,000 and cutting carbon emissions by 18 tonnes per site annually.
  • From saving money to generating revenue: The virtual power plant solution allows operators’ energy storage assets to participate in electricity markets and generate revenue. In Northern Europe customers increased annual revenue by more than €2,000 per site.

GW-level AIDC solution

Demand for computing power continues to rise as Artificial Intelligence expands, driving investment in Artificial Intelligence Data Center infrastructure. Huawei Data Center Facility reconstructs four core elements of data centre operations: power supply, cooling, energy storage and operational management. This approach delivers a reliable, energy-efficient and scalable Artificial Intelligence Data Center solution designed to maximise tokens per watt.

  • AIDC full-link power supply: Innovations across power supply from grid to chips have enabled Huawei to develop the high-density integrated PowerPOD solution to support faster Artificial Intelligence Data Center deployment.
  • AIDC full-chain cooling: Innovations in heat dissipation from chips to the external environment have enabled Huawei to develop an integrated IT POD cooling solution designed for efficient and reliable operations.
  • Artificial Intelligence for data centre operations: Artificial Intelligence is used to enhance safety and energy efficiency across the data centre lifecycle. Fault prediction enables predictive maintenance, while intelligent coordination of cooling and power systems reduces energy consumption.

Bob He, Vice President Huawei Digital Power, said: “Huawei will fully leverage its advantages in converged technologies across energy, wireless and service fields to help operators build more flexible, reliable and greener ICT power facilities, accelerate intelligent transformation in the AI era and achieve continuous business success.”
