A Healthcare Summit themed, ‘Agentic-led Healthcare Transformation, Partnering for Innovative Best Practice’, was held in Shanghai last week at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026. Huawei officially launched the Nanfang Hospital Global Showcase and the Healthcare AI Copilot (HAIC) Solution, accelerating the large-scale implementation of AI in healthcare and providing a replicable path for the digital and intelligent transformation of global healthcare institutions.
The Showcase was jointly launched by Junfeng Li (Wind), Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Global Public Sector BU, William Zhang, President of Huawei Healthcare BU, Jian Sun, President of Nanfang Hospital, Kai Gao, Deputy Party Secretary of Nanfang Hospital and Jie Liu, Vice President of Nanfang Hospital. The platform aims to create a global benchmark for the healthcare industry and a demonstration model of intelligent healthcare.
Built on the Hospital AI Platform (HAIP) – which integrates computing power, data and model resources – the Showcase features the Nanfang Hospital Agent Platform to focus on four core areas: healthcare, education, research and management. By igniting hospital-wide innovation, the showcase has implemented multiple AI applications and built a comprehensive, multi-layered intelligent healthcare system, offering a replicable and scalable path for digital and intelligent transformation for global healthcare institutions.
According to Junfeng Li (Wind), Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Global Public Sector BU, intelligent healthcare is never about simply stacking technologies but requires a systematic approach to create a complete closed loop of ‘technology + scenario + ecosystem’. Huawei leverages innovative achievements such as the HAIP and HAIC Solution to promote the large-scale implementation of AI in areas like operations quality control, AI-assisted clinical diagnosis, translation of scientific discoveries and medical education. Furthermore, Huawei collaborates with partners to build an open and successful digital and intelligent healthcare ecosystem, promoting the inclusive sharing of high-quality healthcare resources across regions and institutions.
Whilst at the show, the HAIC Solution was officially launched to the global market. This solution has been implemented on a large scale in multiple grade-A tertiary hospitals and regional healthcare networks across China, in collaboration with ecosystem partners such as Runda Medical and Huimei Technology.
Through its comprehensive coverage of scenarios such as pathology, imaging and general practitioner assistants, the solution transforms the diagnostic and therapeutic expertise of top-tier hospitals into digital and intelligent tools that are readily accessible to primary care physicians. It serves to fully unlock the path towards intelligent transformation in the healthcare industry.
Also at the show, healthcare and technology leaders discussed how AI is transforming medicine. Xiaoli Tang called digital transformation the core driver of public health reform and highlighted the need to rely on the 15th Five-Year Plan to build new healthcare infrastructure. West China Hospital and Renji Hospital described AI improving diagnosis and patient services, while Farmacéutica Medikamenta shared how it connected 4,200 rural Mexican clinics with Huawei in four months. Huawei’s William Zhang said its HAIP platform and HAIC assistant are designed to empower doctors rather than replace them and Runda Medical committed to bringing end-to-end healthcare AI to more hospitals.
