Vodafone Qatar draws on international expertise to deploy 5G

Building on an established track-record of innovation, Vodafone Qatar is leveraging the expertise of its international peers to deploy 5G capabilities in the country.

International Vodafone offices across the globe are currently working to completely revolutionise the way people work and live by transforming the Internet. From conducting trials to overseeing research groups, the converged digital services provider is developing the progress of 5G.

“We’re entering a brand-new phase in the evolutionary journey of technology. With a long and established track record as one of the world’s top converged digital services providers, there are few organisations better equipped to navigate people and businesses through it,” said Vodafone Qatar’s CEO, Sheikh Hamad Abdulla Jassim Al Thani.

“Our promise to turn Qatar into one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world is supported by more than 20 years of global smart technology knowledge and backed by extensive experience of deploying such technology around the world as well as leadership of organisations such as the Next Generation Mobile Networks group and the 5G Innovation Centre at the University of Surrey.

“This expertise will enable us to access the benefits of 5G earlier than expected, thus accelerating our country’s progress towards fulfilling the Qatar National Vision 2030.”

In a bid to create Gigabit Qatar, Vodafone Qatar has drawn on this expertise in successfully conducting initial tests in the 3.5GHz band allocated for 5G.
