Smart Data Summit in Dubai postponed until October

New dates have been announced for the Smart Data Summit 2020 in Dubai.

Following the coronavirus pandemic, event organisers have rearranged the timing of the event which will now take place on October 26 and 27 at the Convention Centre, Sofitel The Palm Resort & Spa, in Dubai.

A statement from event organisers said: “Over the past few weeks, we have been monitoring closely the global coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and assessing whether the Smart Data Summit 2020 should take place. Particularly as it affects the majority of our participants who are unable to travel due to restrictions.

“Until recently we were confident that the situation would not impact our ability to deliver the event and bring together the regional Big Data and analytics community.

“While the UAE remains safe to travel and continues to adhere to and implement the highest levels of medical measures and hygiene protocols, we feel that the delivery of a world-class event will be inevitably impacted by travel restrictions.

“With this in mind, and following close consultation with UAE government authorities, our event partners, key stakeholders and hosts, we have taken the decision to postpone the Smart Data Summit 2020.

“By opting to defer the event to a later date, we believe that we will be in a better position to deliver the Smart Data Summit 2020 at full capacity offering our event partners and participants the value and exposure they have come to expect from us. The new dates will also align the summit with Expo 2020 Dubai, offering an enhanced experience for all attendees.”
