Teams gear up for Huawei ICT Competition Middle East 2022 Regional Finals

Huawei has announced the national finalists who have taken part in the Huawei ICT Competition Middle East Regional Finals 2022, which took place in Muscat, Oman. Aimed at nurturing ICT talents to contribute towards preparing the next generation of ICT leaders for the digital economy, 2022’s competition featured 15 teams of talented students, accompanied by their academic advisors and representing 11 countries across the Middle East and Central Asia. 

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iraq and Oman each had two teams of three students each, while UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon and Kazakhstan had one. A total of 45 students have competed in the final from an initial entry of 19,231 students from 472 universities and colleges across the region. Participants have undergone a Preliminary Competition and Training Enablement, followed by a National Exam held in Huawei’s offices in each participating country. 

Shunli Wang, Vice President of Huawei Middle East and Central Asia, said: “The continued success of this annual celebration of local youth demonstrates the remarkable ICT talent in the region, supporting the socioeconomic foundation and highlighting the region’s robust digital ecosystem.”
