Egypt to host two-day Techne Summit in Alexandria to promote innovation

A two-day technology summit will take place in Egypt at the end of September.

Techne Summit, the yearly international entrepreneurship and technology event that attracts the main global players in the technology industry, will take place from September 30 till October 1 in  Alexandria.

The two-day summit held at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandra, will include industry professionals as speakers, technology businesses, entrepreneurs, start-ups, investors, users and media representatives from around the world.

Since its launch in 2015 the event has grown in magnitude and coverage, both internationally as well as across Egypt, with positive repercussions for tourism in the country.

The summit has grown to include more than 1600 attendees with 80 speakers from across 20 countries.

Techne Summit 2017 aims to bridge the gap between investors and potential entrepreneurs by capitalising on the crucial role of the technology and communication sectors in the development process.

The event helps start-ups grow in the Middle East and north Africa by connecting them with investors and the resources needed to showcase their innovations, increase their products’ visibility and acquire funding for their businesses.

The featured themes of Techne Summit 2017 are e-Commerce, FinTech, marketing and media technology, investment, start-ups, tech disruption and empowering women.

The Investment track at Techne Summit 2017 aims to promote direct investment in MENA start-ups by bringing together international investors, angel investor groups, venture capitalists, economic development organisations as well as business accelerators and incubators through capacity building master classes and workshops, as well as dedicated panels for investors.
