Sinafocal and Microsoft Paraguay establish co-operation agreement for employability

An agreement between Sinafocal and Microsoft Paraguay means more than 50,000 Paraguayans will be able to improve their digital skills for free.

At an event headed by Mario Abdo Benítez, President of the Republic of Paraguay, a co-operation agreement was signed between the National System of Labor Training (Sinafocal) of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security and Microsoft Paraguay.

This agreed to increase access to jobs in the country through free training under the Digital Skills for Employability program, reaching more than 5,000 Paraguayans in its first stage.

This initiative seeks to increase the employability of people who are actively searching for a job through training in digital tools.

Alfredo Mongelós, Technical Secretary, Sinafocal, said: “The training will be led by teachers and specialized professionals where they will explore the development of foundational digital competencies, focused on roles and techniques and key soft skills, such as learning, communication and conflict resolution, teamwork, adaptation to change, generation of public value, innovation and creativity.”

Nicolás Gutiérrez Brum, General Manager, Microsoft Paraguay, said: “Through this initiative, we seek to bring digital learning platforms closer to people, so that they can gain new technological knowledge that helps them become a more prepared workforce. We will support the Paraguayan workforce to evolve at the same rate as the industries, increasing their ability to get more and better jobs.”
