C&A Brazil deploys blockchain to get closer to suppliers

C&A, the Brazilian clothing retail chain, is enhancing its digital strategy with the use of blockchain technology to strengthen relationships with suppliers across the country.

Developed in partnership with Blockforce startup, specialized in technology research and development, the initiative allows for the integration – in real time – between the retailer’s systems and those of its suppliers, improving the monitoring of the production of each part in a clear, agile and practical way.

Rodrigo Lasalvia, Supplier Compliance Manager, C&A Brazil, said: “C&A is constantly moving to integrate new technologies into its operation, whether to streamline internal processes or to offer new sales formats. Suppliers play an important role across our entire business ecosystem.

“Therefore, implementing this technology will provide more security and strengthen our connection, since all production data will be registered in a single and immutable system.”

The retail chain’s objective is to improve the management of production stages. In this sense, blockchain technology is a strategic tool, in regards to its ability to make the information sharing more dynamic and secure, also ensuring greater precision in monitoring all stages of production. In addition, the feature enables the constant exchange of information, strengthening transparency and, consequently, mitigating compliance risk.
