Entel boosts connectivity for businesses in Chile

Entel has begun the deployment of fiber optics in Quilpué and Villa Alemana in Chile.

The project will benefit 75,000 homes, equivalent to 80% of all homes in both communities, and will ensure better Internet for citizens and businesses. It is set to be particularly beneficial to the healthcare sector.

Daniel Ríos, Entel’s Home Market Manager, said: “Having quality and stable Internet today is fundamental, and it was increased by the pandemic, where our life moved to connectivity. In this sense, the possibilities that technology gives us are and will be increasingly essential for our daily activities.

“That is why we decided to move forward in our fiber optic deployment project in the Valparaíso Region, specifically in Quilpué and Villa Alemana, to expand opportunities for development and quality of life for families and entrepreneurs.”

This project is part of a complete fiber optic deployment carried out by the technology and telecommunications company in the Valparaíso Region. This began in 2020 in the communities of Viña del Mar, Valparaíso, Concón and Reñaca, with a substantial investment.

As a result, 40,000 homes were connected to this network in 2020. In turn, during 2021 and 2022, the company plans to reach 8,000 more homes in other areas of the Valparaíso district, such as Curauma.
