The European Commission has announced the launch of the EU-Latin America Digital Alliance and a new bilateral partnership between Europe and Colombia.

The IV EU-Colombia Forum, organized by the Euroamerica Foundation, followed on March 15 and 16 with the conference bringing together over 230 attendees, including high-level institutional representation from both sides, to discuss key issues of a common agenda and the vision for the future between the two regions.

The focus of the conference was on the triple transition of digital, green and social issues, with a particular emphasis on people, investment and trade relations between Colombia and the EU. Attendees emphasized the importance of productive transformation of the economy through digitization in a sustainable and inclusive manner.

At the conference’s inauguration, Ramón Jáuregui, the President of the Euroamerica Foundation, emphasized Europe’s strong commitment to building a solid collaboration with Latin America, with the support of Spain, which will assume the Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the second half of 2023. It is expected that during this period, relations between the two regions will be strengthened around a common agenda.

The EU-Latin America Digital Alliance and the bilateral partnership between Europe and Colombia represent significant steps in the growing relationship between the two regions.
