Public and private cloud and sustainability solutions lead SAP results in Latin America

SAP has presented the results of the first fiscal quarter of 2023 in Latin America. For 32 consecutive periods, the German company grew its revenue from cloud solutions by double digits, with Brazil and Mexico standing out in the global results.

Cloud growth includes, among others, sustainable solutions, which continue to be rapidly adopted by Latin American companies. Not surprisingly, the latest study entitled Sustainability in the Latin American Leadership Agenda states that 69% of medium and large companies already have a sustainability strategy in progress.

Such is the case of Soleum, the Brazilian producer of carbon-negative sustainable raw materials for the energy, chemical and food industries, which has partnered with SAP to implement a system of sustainability performance and indicators that will help it scale efficiencies. operating while respecting strict levels of governance and regulations.

The company will use the cloud solutions SAP Sustainability Control Tower and SAP Product Footprint Management to manage the sustainable use of natural resources, manage and monitor ESG indicators (including emissions up to scope 3), identify opportunities for improvement and obtain information about the environmental impacts of its products around the world.

“Companies that are advanced in their transformation and digitization processes have higher levels of flexibility, adaptability and resilience to navigate these uncertain times,” said Cristina Palmaka, President of SAP Latin America and the Caribbean.

“If, in addition, they manage to focus on sustainability, they will also be preparing to lead in the future. It is precisely in this direction that we want to accompany all the organizations in Latin America: to become profitable, sustainable and intelligent.”

The ERP SAP S/4HANA platform in the cloud, key in the path of digitization and transformation of companies of any size and industry, reported double-digit growth, both in its private modality and in the comprehensive RISE with SAP offer. In this segment, VEM Conveniência stands out, the convenience retail network linked to Vibra, the largest fuel distributor in Brazil, which is updating its digital strategies with RISE with SAP.

The company seeks a rapid implementation based on good practices, standard processes and a 100% cloud architecture. With the powerful ERP SAP S/4HANA Cloud and the business technology platform SAP Business Technology Platform, the company will not only make the administrative process more efficient, but also support its growth strategy by reducing costs and increasing productivity.

It also sparked significant adoption of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, a flexible public cloud-based version of the ERP platform, currently available in Chile, Colombia and Mexico and mostly targeted at midsize companies.

N+ (NMAS), a Mexican content producer for Televisa’s newscasts, chose it to initiate the Digital Transformation of its financial management and make it more efficient, simple, fast and better aligned with the appropriate security and compliance framework.
