Shopkeepers in Colombia sold on software licences to strengthen their businesses

Colombia’s ICT Ministry has begun the delivery of 500 Tiendex application software licenses to shopkeepers and merchants in the city of Barranquilla.

The licences are being delivered by MinTEC, working with the Colombian company Tiendex on the Digital Transformation initiative.

“We are officially handing over 500 Tiendex licenses, which will allow neighborhood stores in the country to strengthen their businesses with the use of ICT,” said Raúl Castellanos, Director of Digital Economy, MinTIC.

Tiendex is a development made in Colombia, which allows the digital administration of production units, and which, in alliance with the ICT Ministry, will promote the Digital Transformation of neighborhood stores.

“Tiendex is the application that every entrepreneur needs, we change the way businesses are managed through easy management of billing, administration and electronic commerce,” said Santiago Naranjo, Manager of Tiendex.

This articulated work will be supported by training, support and technical advice to boost the economic growth of the shopkeepers involved.

They will be able to implement automated sales via WhatsApp, manage inventories and purchases through the digital tool – and will learn to make decisions based on real time data.
