TIM activates 5G technology in 17 popular destinations in Brazil

TIM, a leader in 5G in Brazil, has activated the technology in more than 16 municipalities in different regions of the country, including the main cities in the Brazilian mountains.

On the list are Campos do Jordão, São José dos Campos and São Caetano do Sul, in São Paulo, the Fluminenses Petrópolis, Teresópolis and Cabo Frio, and the Rio Grande do Sul Gramado, Canela and Bento Gonçalves.

The cities of Londrina (PR), Foz do Iguaçu (PR), Blumenau (SC), Uberlândia (MG), Guarapari (ES), Pinhais and São José dos Pinhas, in Paraná, will also receive the 5G network.

In addition to benefiting the local population with navigation at speeds up to one hundred times faster than 4G, the new technology will be another attraction for more than 20 million tourists who every year share their experiences and emotions enjoying the cold weather in these regions.

Fabio Avellar, VP of Revenue at TIM, said: “Our primary goal with 5G is to bring unprecedented experiences to customers. We know that many people visit these cities in winter and we want to offer a full connection, so that residents and tourists can share their experiences in real time. The idea is also to stimulate the economy and trade in these tourist destinations, encouraging even more people to get to know them.”
