Hughes increases Internet access in Colombia with new Hughesnet

Hughes Network Systems has announced its new Hughesnet high-speed satellite Internet plans for customers in Colombia.

These plans leverage the capacity of Hughes’ new JUPITER 3 satellite to deliver greater coverage and a better user experience.

Focusing on the needs of rural customers, the company will offer more data at better prices for consumers and small and medium-sized businesses, improving access to the service for those living far from urban areas.

“We listen to the needs of the market and change to continue positively impacting the social and economic development of the region by providing more accessible, better quality connectivity,” said Benjamín Valverde, General Manager Consumer for Latam at Hughes.

This evolution is leveraged by of JUPITER 3, an ultra-high-density satellite featuring more than 300 spot beams that help relieve congestion and a dedicated fiber backbone that helps reduce latency and features AI to automatically reroute traffic around congestion.

“JUPITER 3 is pushing the boundaries of possibility, providing the necessary capacity to respond to the exponential growth of Internet demand in the region, with more data and a better user experience. In addition.

“Considering that today there are approximately 72 million people living in rural areas of Latin America without access to the Internet, JUPITER 3 will allow governments to achieve the goals set to connect those who currently do not have the service,” said Valverde.
