Globant and GUT launch commercial that mocks ‘meaningless’ technology services

Globant has launched a new commercial titled Taste ID.

The video is the latest instalment in Globant’s Stuck in Consultancy saga, a campaign created by award-winning global agency GUT – which was recently incorporated by Globant.

In the new commercial, Globant tackles a common notion head-on: the perception that IT organizations often forget about users and the real business when thinking about development for their customers.

With a tongue-in-cheek and humorous twist, the video depicts a tech company showcasing its latest innovation Taste ID – a feature that makes the dubious claim of being able to identify what a person wants to eat based on licking their mobile screen.

As the presenters demonstrate this unappetizing offer to a group of incredulous executives, the film declares ‘no more mindless technology’ while delivering a strong brand statement about the need to apply them to real business transformations.

“As part of the ‘Stuck in Consultancy’ saga, this new commercial emphasizes Globant’s continued commitment to challenging traditional norms, making us the ideal partner who dares to create digital solutions for our clients,” said Wanda Weigert, Chief Brand Officer, Globant.

Matías Lafalla, Chief Creative Officer, GUT, said: “This campaign addresses one of the most critical topics in the technology industry: putting the consumer or user at the center when creating digital solutions.

“To tell this narrative, we chose to maintain the humorous and ironic tone that has already become a signature of this saga.”
