Addi raises US$85 million Series D to accelerate AI-powered fintech growth in Colombia

Addi has secured US$85 million in Series D equity funding in a round led by Citius and co-led by BTG Pactual, marking the investment bank’s first Growth investment outside Brazil and highlighting increasing investor confidence in Colombia’s financial services sector.

The funding round also included participation from GIC, Monashees and existing investors, reinforcing long-term backing for the fintech company.

Chief executive and co-founder Santiago Suárez said Addi had spent seven years building an AI-first financial and commerce platform serving more than three million customers and 39,000 merchants across Colombia. Although the business has remained profitable for the past two years, he said the new capital would accelerate growth and bring additional strategic partners.

As part of the investment, Addi and BTG Pactual will collaborate on strategic initiatives within the Colombian market. BTG Pactual said Colombia’s financial services sector was undergoing a transformation similar to Brazil’s earlier expansion in consumer credit – with Addi using AI at scale to reshape lending for consumers and merchants.

The investment follows several major milestones for the company. In April 2026, Addi secured a US$150 million structured credit facility led by J.P. Morgan, increasing total debt commitments beyond US$680 million. The company also received regulatory approval from Colombia’s Superintendencia Financiera to operate as a regulated financial entity and was named among the world’s three most innovative fintech companies by Fast Company.

Addi said the proceeds would support expansion of its credit platform, technology infrastructure and financial products across Colombia to meet rising consumer and merchant demand.
