Latin America has become the focal point of a new global alliance between thyssenkrupp and GlobalLogic, with the partners positioning the region’s heavy industries for the next generation of physical AI and autonomous robotics.
The collaboration combines thyssenkrupp’s industrial engineering expertise with GlobalLogic’s software engineering capabilities and Hitachi Group’s AI research to accelerate Digital Transformation across sectors including energy, mining, oil and gas, cement and manufacturing.
At the heart of the partnership is a From Laboratory to Scale model that aims to speed the commercial deployment of physical AI technologies while improving worker safety, operational efficiency and sustainability.
GlobalLogic will deploy its Unified Data Layer architecture to create a real-time platform linking plant and business data. The system will support autonomous robots, drones and robotic cameras for inspections and monitoring in hazardous environments, reducing occupational risks while improving operational accuracy.
The companies will also develop AI solutions that convert complex industrial data into measurable business value and support decarbonisation. An intelligent platform will automate the capture and analysis of technical information, simplifying industrial decision-making.
GlobalLogic LATAM Head Sebastián Bainer said Colombia and the wider region were well positioned to benefit, particularly across industries where safety, productivity and environmental performance are increasingly important.
The partners believe the alliance will establish new benchmarks for AI-enabled heavy industry while strengthening Latin America’s role in advanced industrial technologies that support sustainable growth and the global energy transition. Executives said the initiative demonstrates confidence in LATAM as a proving ground for scalable industrial innovation worldwide.
