Alibaba Cloud has strengthened its international expansion strategy by opening its first data center in Mexico, giving businesses across Latin America access to the company’s cloud platform while reinforcing competition in one of the world’s fastest-growing Digital Transformation markets.
The new facility provides cloud computing services for enterprises, developers and organisations throughout Mexico and the wider region. Alibaba Cloud said the investment reflects its commitment to accelerating digital innovation while helping customers build more scalable and resilient technology operations.
The launch expands Alibaba Cloud’s global infrastructure to 87 availability zones across 29 regions, extending its capacity to support multinational organisations with secure, high-performance cloud services.
Selina Yuan, President of International Business, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, said: “We are not only bringing cloud technology to support local businesses, but also building an inclusive and thriving ecosystem in Mexico together with local partners, developers and customers to foster innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth across Latin America.”
Yuan said Mexican businesses would also benefit from Alibaba Cloud’s global network, enabling them to expand into international markets, particularly across Asia, while taking advantage of the company’s worldwide cloud infrastructure.
The investment also positions Alibaba Cloud to support rising demand for artificial intelligence, data-intensive applications and cross-border digital services as organisations modernise operations. By establishing local infrastructure, customers can reduce latency, improve regulatory compliance and deploy workloads more efficiently, strengthening regional connectivity while creating new opportunities for innovation, business growth and international collaboration across Latin America while supporting future enterprise investment, resilience and sustainable economic development.
