Globant launches Women that Build Awards to recognize female labor in STEAM

Globant, a digital native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, has announced the launch of the third edition of the Women that Build Awards, which recognizes outstanding women from all over the world in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

The award aims to encourage innovation and collaboration in the technology industry by promoting plurality and connecting women from different parts of the world. This year, the award has five categories: Tech Entrepreneur, Digital Leader, Rising Star, Board Executive and Techfluencer. The awards will be granted globally with judges in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, India, Mexico, the Caribbean, Peru, Ecuador, Spain, the UK, the US, Canada and Uruguay.

The global awards will include scholarships for leadership programs at leading universities. Winners will also be featured on the billboard at NYSE Times Square in New York City and invited to attend an international workshop with previous winners and finalists of the Women that Build Awards. In addition, it includes a trip to the global awards ceremony, where there will be the opportunity to interact with speakers and participate in conferences, lectures and community-building activities.

Patricia Pomies, Chief Operating Officer, Globant, said: “There is no doubt that the gender pay gap and underrepresentation of women, including in executive board positions in the technology sector, have long been a global problem.”
