GITEX, the Middle East’s top technology event, opens for business

GITEX, the Middle East’s leading technology event, is underway in the UAE.  The event promises to bring the latest headline-busting innovations to the attention of thousands of visitors.

The Dubai event will showcase global technological innovations that are transforming sectors and entire industries 365 days a year and was opened by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE.

This year the event hosted at Dubai World Trade Centre has 24 dedicated exhibiting zones including: Artificial Intelligence (AI), smart home, smart workplace, future transportation and Blockchain.

The event, which runs from Sunday October 14 until Thursday October 18 inclusive, will place a special emphasis on AI including:

  • The AI Trailblazer Award will recognise and reward the first-adopters of the latest technology across sectors such as Smart Cities, energy, retail, finance, transport and logistics, smart construction, digital marketing, healthcare and education
  • A dedicated AI exhibitor space: where visitors can experience all the latest trends and headline-busting AI innovations
  • AI conference events: Hear how AI is changing the game across nine industry verticals
  • World-renowned AI experts and leaders decode AI applications and uses

In the X Labs element of the exhibition, innovators will be doing the unthinkable with live discussions and tech demos powered by the latest and most cutting-edge innovations.

Visitors can also make the most of Tech Talks, aimed at both technology experts and those new to the Information Technology industry. These are free-to-attend insights on the latest cutting-edge advancements -powered by thought leadership.
