Mario Maffie is settling in as CIO at United Natural Foods (UNFI).
Maffie took up the role in October and is leading the company’s IT team, overseeing critical network systems integration work and helping accelerate the use of data and insights in support of UNFI’s customers and suppliers.
He joins UNFI after a 24-year tenure at Mars where he held several key senior leadership positions within the technology department including director roles supporting Global Technology Transformation and End User Technologies.
In 2010, Maffie was also part of the team that integrated Mars and Wrigley, leading to the successful unification of data centers, networks, infrastructure, service desks and the IT department.
His expertise extends to launching a global master data platform with SAP MDG and heading the first global deployment at Mars of predictive AI-based financial performance tools.
