Strategic collaboration confirmed to simplify global IoT deployments.
Tata Communications has announced a strategic collaboration with Cisco to reshape how enterprises connect, manage and scale IoT devices worldwide.
As enterprises expand IoT operations, managing large fleets of devices -from connected vehicles to industrial sensors – remains challenging due to fragmented SIM hardware, complex provisioning and lack of interoperability across networks. These barriers increase costs, slow rollouts and limit flexibility.
The collaboration integrates Tata Communications MOVE, a multi-generational global eSIM orchestration platform with reach across 200+ countries and 350+ million eSIM operating systems, into Cisco’s IoT Control Center, a cloud-based management platform used by more than 32,000 enterprises and supporting 270 million SIM IoT devices including 100 million connected cars.
Enterprises will benefit from the ability to:
- Seamlessly activate and manage devices across SIM providers, private and public networks, and eSIM standards
- Accelerate time-to-market with a unified connectivity experience
- Gain end-to-end visibility and control of IoT deployments
- Reduce integration complexity and avoid vendor lock-in
Marco Bijvelds, Vice President and Global Head of Tata Communications MOVE said: “The continuous evolution of eSIM is transforming how enterprises connect and manage IoT devices. By combining Tata Communications’ intelligent IoT fabric with Cisco’s proven device management platform, global businesses can unlock new opportunities, streamline operations and accelerate Digital Transformation. We are excited to build a foundation for connected enterprises to scale faster, smarter and with confidence.”
Industries such as transportation, logistics and manufacturing will see significant benefits. Examples include trucking companies instantly activating trailers across borders without local SIMs and utilities monitoring infrastructure across public and private networks without reconfiguration.
Masum Mir, senior vice president and general manager, Cisco provider mobility, said: “Enterprises need greater simplicity, automation, and scalability to manage increasingly complex use cases. eSIM is a foundational technology and Tata Communications’ track record as a strong Cisco partner makes them the natural choice as we advance our mobility vision, particularly in managing connected vehicles across the full lifecycle – from manufacturing to dealerships to on the road.”
