Tennessee Titans select Extreme Networks to deliver Wi-Fi 7 and first Multi-Beam Wireless deployment at new Nissan Stadium

The Tennessee Titans selected Extreme Networks to provide advanced Wi-Fi 7 connectivity throughout the new Nissan Stadium, making it the first sports venue to deploy Extreme Multi-Beam Wireless technology and supporting a next-generation digital fan experience.

The NFL’s Tennessee Titans selected Extreme Networks to provide the wireless infrastructure for the new Nissan Stadium, making the venue the first in the world to deploy Extreme Multi-Beam Wireless technology.

The agreement positioned the Nashville stadium at the forefront of venue connectivity, combining advanced antenna technology with Wi-Fi 7 to deliver reliable, high-capacity wireless performance for sporting events, concerts and other large-scale entertainment.

The new 60,000-seat $2.1 billion Nissan Stadium – expected to host Super Bowl LXIV in 2030 – is scheduled to open in 2027 and is being built next to the existing Nissan Stadium, which is set for demolition.

The new network was designed to support tens of thousands of simultaneous users while delivering the speed, capacity and resilience expected from a modern sports venue. Fans would be able to connect from the moment they entered the stadium, use frictionless retail outlets, access mobile services, stream live content and share experiences on social media without interruption, even during peak attendance.

Extreme Networks has announced the deployment would be built around Wi-Fi 7, providing the latest wireless standard alongside technology engineered specifically for high-density environments. The company partnered with MatSing to combine its advanced antenna technology with Extreme access points, creating Extreme Multi-Beam Wireless, which was designed to deliver highly targeted wireless coverage across every part of the 60,000-seat venue.

According to the companies, the hyper-directional antenna system would improve coverage, capacity and efficiency by directing wireless signals precisely where they were needed, helping maintain consistent performance throughout the stadium regardless of crowd density.

The infrastructure was intended to create a seamless digital environment capable of supporting growing numbers of connected devices as fan expectations continue to evolve.

Andrew McIntyre, Senior Vice President of Technology, Tennessee Titans, said the organisation had worked closely with Extreme for several years to develop next-generation stadium connectivity.

“We’ve worked closely with Extreme for years to push the boundaries of what’s possible in stadium technology – and their expertise in large venue connectivity is unmatched.

“As the first venue to deploy Extreme Multi-Beam Wireless, we’re defining the future of stadium connectivity, enabling a more immersive fan experience and building a network that can support the next decade of live events.”

John Brams, Senior Vice President, Americas, Extreme Networks, said the Titans had set an ambitious vision for the new stadium and that wireless connectivity would become a critical component of both fan engagement and venue operations.

He said the network would support every aspect of the stadium experience for visitors, employees and operational teams while helping the venue host some of the world’s biggest sporting and entertainment events. He added that the wireless platform would become the digital foundation supporting future innovations as expectations for connected venues continued to increase.

The deployment also included Extreme Network Fabric, designed to simplify operations through self-healing rerouting, policy-based management and automated network scaling. These capabilities would allow the network to adapt quickly to changing demand, whether during regular season NFL games or major international events such as Super Bowl LXIV.

Extreme Platform ONE would provide centralised network management through a single interface, giving operators access to real-time analytics, AI-driven capabilities and end-to-end visibility across the stadium’s infrastructure. The platform was designed to help identify issues rapidly, improve operational efficiency and optimise the performance of connected services throughout the venue.

Beyond enhancing fan connectivity, the deployment created a scalable platform for future digital services, including evolving mobile applications, operational automation and emerging in-venue experiences. The flexible architecture was intended to accommodate technological advances without requiring significant infrastructure redesign, protecting long-term investment while supporting innovation.

Venue operators would also gain improved insight into network usage, application performance and connected devices, enabling them to make informed operational decisions before, during and after events while maintaining consistent service quality across the entire stadium.

The project further strengthened Extreme Networks’ presence across the National Football League. Following the Titans deployment, the company provided Wi-Fi infrastructure for 12 NFL teams and stadiums, supporting high-density connectivity, mobile applications and enhanced digital fan experiences.

Extreme also reported that 30 NFL teams had adopted ExtremeCloud Business Insights, which analyses stadium Wi-Fi data to better understand fan behaviour, application usage and engagement patterns. Teams use these insights to improve game-day experiences, personalise services and support operational decision-making.

The growing adoption of connected technologies across professional sport reflected wider changes in spectator expectations. Modern fans increasingly relied on mobile ticketing, digital concessions, cashless payments, live statistics, instant replay, fantasy sports applications and social media engagement throughout events, placing unprecedented demands on wireless infrastructure.
