iPlanet Golf introduces golf simulation theatre in South Africa

Golfzon held the ceremony of opening the first shop in South Africa after signing the contract of sales agent with iPlanet Golf at Gateway Theatre of Shopping, the largest shopping mall in Durban, South Africa. iPlanet Golf, the official supplier of Golfzon products in South Africa, opened its first shop in the country at Gateway Theatre of Shopping and installed five Vision Systems.

Golfzon and iPlanet Golf expect the opening of the first shop in South Africa will serve as a momentum of making inroads into Africa and extending competitiveness of Golfzon to that continent as the top golf simulator company in Korea.

Vision System of Golfzon is a golf simulator that allows golfers to play golf indoor anytime anywhere, enjoying real life-like outdoor golf course. The technological excellence of the golf simulators has been widely recognised as Golfzon and the LPGA concluded a contract in January last year for using them as the latter’s official simulators for three years. And their excellence was also demonstrated as the world’s top women professional golfers in Korea as well as young hopeful golfers are using Golfzon golf simulators.

“Leveraging the excellent technology and knowhow of golf simulators that boast top market share in Korea, we will stimulate a boom of simulation golf in South Africa. We will concentrate efforts on distributing Golfzon systems in Durban and other major cities in South Africa including Johannesburg and Cape Town as well as other countries in Africa,” said Lee Min Seop, Vice President for Global Business Division at Golfzon.

Golfzon is a leading company in the virtual golf industry, established in South Korea in 2000. Golfzon has been trying to overcome the entry barrier to golf and expand the number of golfers. With a simulation-based business model consisting of golf, IT, and culture, Golfzon is presenting golf in a way never seen before.
