The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has entered into a landmark collaboration with tech giant Meta to bolster Ghana’s digital defences.
In high-level discussions at the CSA headquarters, Meta’s Vice President for Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye, Kojo Boakye, and CSA leadership agreed on joint initiatives to enhance cybercrime investigations and online safety measures.
Key areas of focus include developing real-time incident reporting systems and nationwide digital literacy programs, with particular emphasis on child online protection.
The partnership will also launch localised awareness campaigns and improve fraud detection mechanisms to address the growing issue of online impersonation. CSA Director-General Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako described the collaboration as “critical for building a cyber-resilient digital economy.”
This partnership aligns with the Mahama administration’s National Digital Transformation Agenda, which prioritises public-private collaboration in cybersecurity. The agreement establishes Ghana as Meta’s first West African partner for comprehensive digital safety initiatives, setting a precedent for regional co-operation in cyberdefence strategies.
