Orange Egypt has launched its first digital training centre in Upper Egypt, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and in partnership with Aswan University, marking a significant step towards empowering and upskilling young people in the region.
The Orange Digital Centre in Aswan extends Orange Egypt’s corporate social responsibility strategy, supported by the German government, and focuses on equipping youth with in-demand digital skills while preparing talent to enter the labour market. The initiative builds on the success of the Orange Digital Centre in Cairo, established in 2021, which has already trained thousands of young people in digital technologies.
Dr Loay Saad El-Din Nosrat, President of Aswan University, said: “The university’s participation aligns with national priorities to support Digital Transformation and human capacity building.”
He noted that hosting the centre on campus helps link academic education with labour market needs while ensuring integration between training programmes and academic disciplines.
The centre’s programmes are available to university students and youth across Upper Egypt, offering training in software development, embedded systems, data analysis and cybersecurity, alongside hands-on learning in hardware and rapid prototyping.
