Cable manufacturer Habia Cable selects IFS Applications

IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that the leading European cable manufacturer Habia Cable has selected IFS Applications™ as its core ERP solution to increase operational efficiencies across its global operation.

Headquartered in Sweden, Habia Cable is a leading manufacturer of high performance standard and custom-designed cables, wires and cable assemblies. The company uses a wide range of components to design and manufacture special cables and assemblies for industrial, defence, nuclear and communication applications.

Habia Cable needed to replace a mixture of ad-hoc legacy systems with an integrated solution that could manage operations across a number of countries and business units to increase operational efficiencies. Following an extensive competitive tender process, IFS Applications was selected over competitors that included Microsoft Dynamics because it is a globally deployable solution that is powerful enough to address the most complex manufacturing processes with an intuitive user interface.

Commenting the selection of IFS Applications, Habia Cable CEO Carl Modigh said that “IFS presented a very convincing solution that is powerful enough to address the complex reality of our business and allows us to consolidate our business information into a single system”. The deal involves 285 users in 12 countries in Europe and Asia, and “the fact that IFS offered a solution that could be deployed globally was another important factor why we finally chose IFS Applications,” Modigh continued.

IFS Scandinavia CEO Glenn Arnesen said, “This is further recognition of how IFS offers real long-term value to global businesses with a solution that is designed with their industry in mind. IFS has a unique value proposition for manufacturing-based companies, which we have been supporting for many years with lifecycle solutions that help them grow and remain profitable.”

The implementation of IFS Applications is scheduled to be ready by 2017.
