Barcelona buzz: Discover what’s new at MWC’s 2024 showcase

Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona is set to showcase the latest innovations from leading telecommunications companies. Intelligent CIO Europe previews the event which takes place between February 26-29.

Huawei will discuss the future of Telco Cloud-Native with industry partners. Telco Cloud-Native 1.0 features carrier-grade stability, high reliability and high performance, making cloudified networks available.

Huawei telco cloud maintains high reliability of networks built on IT infrastructure and decoupled devices, realises efficient cross-layer fault diagnosis and O&M, and guarantees the integration of NFV components at different layers, propelling the large-scale commercial use of the telco cloud infrastructure worldwide.

Dell Technologies

Dell Technologies is announcing new solutions to help communications service providers CSPs facilitate network cloud and operations transformation to achieve improved economics and agility, while maintaining network reliability.

The company is using its decades of experience in Digital Transformation and deep industry partnerships to design telecom solutions that reduce risk, so CSPs can ease the deployment, automate the operation and simplify the support and lifecycle management of disaggregated network cloud infrastructure.

Dell Technologies will be exhibiting at Booth 3M30 in Hall 3. Michael Dell will present his keynote on Monday, February 26.

Snowflake, the Data Cloud company, will highlight enhanced offerings to MWC, including new innovations in AI and Machine Learning, leading telco partner solutions and cross-industry collaborations to tackle some of the most challenging issues facing the industry. These include smart CapEx optimisation, capacity planning, field operations, tackling carbon emissions, predictive and automated network maintenance and Open Radio Access Network (ORAN) data enrichment and management.

Snowflake will be hosting a number of demos at its booth (5A31) to address how to eliminate data silos, enhance customer experience and unlock new revenue streams by monetising data.

A number of Snowflake partners will also be hosting sessions at its booth, including AWS, SDG Group, Alteryx, Twilio and Braze.

O-RAN ALLIANCE will present 41 demos of the latest improvements to open and intelligent Radio Access Networks (RAN) throughout MWC and at the O-RAN Virtual Exhibition.

The showcased intelligent RAN solutions demonstrate capabilities aiming to improve the RAN performance in traffic steering, energy savings, service quality, spectrum efficiency and network management. Examples include Machine Learning models for network load balancing, orchestrating applications’ requests for network resources and private network management.

VIAVI Solutions

VIAVI Solutions will showcase test, automation and optimisation solutions through a series of collaborative demonstrations with over 20 partners at MWC. This is VIAVI’s highest number of partner collaborations at the event, highlighting the company’s integral role in the ecosystem and the need for aligning advancement in the industry.

Sameh Yamany, Chief Technology Officer, VIAVI, said: “VIAVI has harnessed its decades of leadership in network test and optimisation, our critical role in industry organisations such as the O-RAN ALLIANCE, and our relationships with other major vendors to ensure our customers have access to tailored and best-of-breed solutions.”

SQream, the scalable GPU data analytics platform, will present its cutting-edge solutions designed to empower the telecom industry with advanced data processing and analytics capabilities. Showcasing its pioneering geolocation analytics feature within its acclaimed SQL engine, SQream will demonstrate how mobile-first enterprises can leverage unparalleled efficiency and performance in data analytics to navigate the complexities of the digital era.

SQream will exhibit at Booth #5G61 in the Israeli Pavilion, Hall 5.

BLiNQ Networks

BLiNQ Networks will highlight the capabilities of its 5G + Wi-fi solution during a live demonstration of the PCW-400i. This integrated platform using EdgeQ’s SoC is utilising the 3.3-4.2GHz frequency band spectrum and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz and 6GHz spectrum for the live demonstration.

BLiNQ is exhibiting at the Canadian Pavilion in Hall 7 Stand 7G61.

CTOne has announced new Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) and end-to-end private 5G security solutions. At MWC, CTOne will be showcasing next-generation security solutions that will propel organisations to utilise the full potential of private 5G while effectively managing associated cyber-risks. The new capabilities for protecting private 5G networks focus on supporting advanced wireless needs for the telecom industry, systems integrators and private 5G network users.

CTOne will exhibit at Booth 4A50, Hall 4, alongside Trend Micro.

ZTE Corporation will unveil the highlights of 5G-A during MWC. This initiative aims to unlock the full potential of 5G technology and create infinite value. This includes the industry’s first constant PA efficiency radio platform for optimal performance. The latest radio platform achieves near-constant PA efficiency, ensuring optimal performance at all times.

On Wednesday February 28, Wavelo’s CEO, Justin Reilly, will be presenting ‘The Telecom Stack of the Future’ at MWC alongside Rob Bennett from DISH Wireless.
